Anthony Nagy, Retired Weston Town Employee, 86

WESTON, Conn. -- Anthony Nagy, of Weston, died on May 22, 2015. He was 86 years old.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1928 in Ancram, N.Y., the youngest of 11 children of Stephen and Elizabeth (Szabo) Nagy. Educated in the Taconic, N.Y. school system, Nagy completed his grammar studies along with contributing to the family farm. In 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

Discharged in 1952, he returned to Fairfield County, where the family had relocated in the early 1950’s.

In 1968 he went to work for the Town of Weston's public works and spent the next 21 years plowing snow, patching potholes and all the other details of keeping the towns road passable and, in his mind, even comfortable. Retiring in 1989, he spent the following 25 years traveling the back roads of eastern New York, Vermont and the Berkshires.

He is survived by two brothers, George and Ben.

Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Bouton Funeral Home, Wilton.

Internment will be in Copake Falls, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for CT Hospice.
