Gurega was born in Stamford, to William and Margaret Ryan. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Easton Garden Club.
Gurega is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Jennifer Coiteux (Jed) of Fairfield; sister, Patricia Gardone of Stamford; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and sisters, Marge Deegan and Louise Caputo.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. directly at Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Road. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery's Mausoleum, Fairfield.
