EASTON, Conn. - Cynthia Chernesky Dworken, 56, died at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan on Friday, Dec. 26.
Dworken had fought cancer for eight years. She died with her husband of 30 years, Jeffrey, by her side.
She was born in Bridgeport, where she lived before moving to Easton with her husband, whom she met while working at Ernst & Young in Stamford in 1979.
Dworken embraced motherhood, and created a loving and nurturing environment for her entire family. Besides family, she enjoyed reading, gardening and pets.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Stephanie, Benjamin and Jared; by her brother, James (Beth) Chernesky, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ann Chernesky.
The family will be holding private funeral services and internment. Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the family's home at 38 Tuckahoe Road in Easton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center here.
