Deborah P. Simons, 44, Of Easton

EASTON, Conn. - Deborah Powell Simons of Easton died Wednesday, June 11. She was 44.

Simons was born Dec. 15, 1969, in Wilmington, Del., and was the daughter of Robert and Judith Lewis Powell of Hilton Head, S.C. She received her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and earned her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University, as well as advanced degrees in Substance Abuse and School Counseling. She worked for the Town of Monroe, serving as a counselor at Masuk High School and the Real & Alternative Program.

Simons is survived by her husband, Samuel R.N. Simons; parents, Robert and Judith; children, Alden, Caden, Noah and Eve; brother, Robert Powell (Nadine) of Nova Scotia; father and mother-in-law, Brian and Beth Simons of Trumbull; brothers, Keith Simons (Amy) of Monroe, Marybeth Simons of Bristol, Vt., and Molly Smith (Reed) of Monroe several aunts, uncles; cousins; nieces, nephews; and many friends.

A Memorial Gathering celebrating Deborah's life will take place Saturday, June 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
