Hal Kendig, 82, Longtime Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Hal Kendig, who had lived in Westport for 28 years until moving to Weston last year, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 82.

He was born May 6, 1932 in Emporia, Kan., the son of Harold and Roxanna (Plumb) Kendig. 

He enlisted in the Navy upon graduating from the University of Washington and was stationed in Morocco for much of his service. After that he joined Pan American World Airways and spent 25 years with the airline, working all over the world. 

He was a member of the Y’s Men of Westport Weston and was a trustee with Earthplace: The Nature Discovery Center in Westport.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Regi (Kelly) Kendig; son, Ty, and daughter, Paige, both of Westport; and sister, Ann Graeber of Dallas.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Christ and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 75 Church Lane, Westport.
