Helen Chrzanowski, 95, Lifelong Easton Resident

EASTON, Conn. - Helen Chrzanowski of Easton died Dec. 21. She was 95.

Chrzanowski resided briefly in Jamaica Plain, Mass., and Stratford, she lived her entire life in Easton. She was involved in raising money to build Notre Dame church; a regular at the annual Fireman's carnival; assisting in Easton's Meals on Wheels program; working at the polls; volunteering at the Easton Senior Center and St. Vincent's Medical Center. In 2007, she was among a group of Connecticut poll workers honored by Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz for her many years of service.

Chrzanowski is survived by her sons, Joseph, Thomas, Michael; daughter, Mary Randolph; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Stanczyk. She was predeceased by her husband, Al; brothers, John Stanczyk and Joseph Stanczyk; and grandson, Paul.

Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame of Easton Church, Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association , 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 (alz.org).
