Katherine Kusnierczak, 90, Of Easton

EASTON, Conn. – Katherine Kusnierczak, 90, a lifelong resident of Easton, died Friday, May 29, at Middlebrook Farms Assisted Living.

She graduated from Samuel Staples Elementary School, Bassick High School and the Dale Carnegie Course of Public Speaking.

She worked at Chance Vaught Aircraft during World War II, and later in sales of women's clothing and Tupperware products. She especially loved country music, polka music and dancing. She performed in variety shows, sang in the Notre Dame Church choir and played piano and guitar.

She loved sewing, knitting, gardening, baking, picnics and the outdoors. But most of all, she loved her family, church and community. She enjoyed working at the polls, was an officer of the Notre Dame Ladies' Council, volunteered with the Visiting Nurse Association and was an active member of the Easton Volunteer Firemen's Siren Aide, VFW Auxiliary and Homemaker's Club.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Kusnierczak of Spring Hill, Fla.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Leopold Kusnierczak; sister Helen Chrzanowski; and brothers, John Stanczyk and Joseph Stanczyk.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame of Easton, prior to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.

The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport, is handling arrangements.
