EASTON, Conn. -- Ursula (Sally) Parkermege Holmes, of Easton, formerly of Fairfield, wife of Richard T. Holmes, died Saturday, Sept. 12. She was 83.
She was born in Fairfield on Oct. 21, 1931.
She was an active member of the Notre Dame of Easton Catholic Church, the Easton Senior Center and the Fayerweather Yacht Club.
She and her husband celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 7.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard T. Holmes Jr. and his wife Jean of Newmarket, N.H.; Sally H. Aubin and her husband Michael of Needham, Mass.; and Thomas G. Holmes and his wife Debbie of Westport; and grandchildren, Katrina, Ryan and Fred Holmes, Marisa and Shelby Aubin, and TJ and Dan Holmes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame of Easton on Morehouse Road, followed by committal services at Mount Grove Cemetery, North Avenue in Bridgeport.
Holmes' granddaughter, Marisa, will be marching in October for the benefit of breast cancer research. In lieu of flowers, direct contributions in Holmes' memory to the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road.
