Weinstein Reflects On What She Likes Most As Weston's First Selectman

WESTON, Conn. -- Gayle Weinstein has been Weston’s first selectman since 2009.

Serving in that role has been the realization of a passion for helping the community. Now, she shares some thoughts about what she likes most about her job.

The thing I like best about my job is that I get to meet and interact with many of our residents. Some need my assistance in solving problems; others stop by my office just to chat. In either case, having people feel like they’re being listened to, is important to me.

I particularly like when children stop by. I love teaching them about the history of Weston, how our government works, and hearing their perspective. A Girl Scout actually told me that I’m famous!

Attending the Senior lunches at Norfield Church is always fun. Not only to I get to visit with an important and lively segment of our population, but I get brag about my kids and eat a delicious meal.

I love attending community events, and participating in the Memorial Day Parade, the Veteran’s ceremony, the Firehouse Open House, and DVCC events, just to name a few.

Being part of the Weston community is so important to me, and I am so grateful that I will be able to serve this wonderful town for two more years.
