Armed Man Robs TD Bank In Fairfield On Sunday Afternoon

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A man carry a semi-automatic pistol robbed the TD Bank on the Post Road in downtown Fairfield just before closing time on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The suspect entered the TD Bank at 1643 Post Road through the back door at about 2:59 p.m. Sunday, police said. The bank branch closes at 3 p.m. on Sundays. 

The man confronted the manager, who was near the back door, pulled out a pistol and ordered her to go to the teller area, police said. He placed a black bag on the counter and ordered the teller to load it with $100 bills, police said. She placed an undetermined amount of cash in the bag, and the suspect fled out the back door, police said.

No getaway vehicle was seen, police said.

The suspect was described as a young-looking black male in his late teens to 20s, who was 5 foot, 10 inches tall with a slender build, police said.

The man was wearing a dark ski mask, a green hoodie, long dark (likely blue) pajama-like pants covered with the Polo logo and purple or gray sneakers with a white stripe, police said.

He was carrying a dark-colored semi-automatic pistol, police said.
