Danbury Police Arrest Pair Of Suspected Drug Dealers, Seize Heroin, Crack

DANBURY, Conn. -- A suspected drug dealer with heroin and crack cocaine packaged for sale in his possession was busted late Monday afternoon in a Danbury parking lot by officers with an arrest warrant, police said.

A female associate was also arrested Monday at their Danbury home, police said.

At 5:40 p.m. Monday, March 23, members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division executed search and seizure warrants for Terrence “Ratchet” Walker, 35, while he was parked in a business parking lot on Germantown Road, police said.

Officers seized his vehicle and determined that Walker was in possession of heroin and crack cocaine, which was prepared for sale, police said. He was placed under arrest and transported to the police department.

After securing Walker and his vehicle, investigators proceeded to his home at 79 Park Ave., Unit 206, where they executed another search warrant, police said.

Officers found Sonya Henry, 31, at the residence with two school age children, police said. After finding a substantial quantity of heroin, cocaine and money in the home, officers arrested Henry, police said. The children were left in the care of a suitable adult pending the arrival of the state Department of Children and Families.

The warrants were issued as a result of an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to complaints from residents that Walker was selling illegal drugs throughout the Danbury area, police said.

Based on a surveillance of Walker, his vehicle and home, which revealed activity consistent with drug trafficking, a judge in Danbury Superior Court found probable cause to believe Walker was selling illegal drugs and authorized the search of his home, vehicle and person, as well as for Henry, who also resides at 79 Park Ave., Unit 206, police said.

Walker was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of crack cocaine, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of less than 5 ounces of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a child, police said. He was held on $250,000 bond.

Henry faces the same charges, police said. She was released on a promise to appear in court.
