No charges were lodged that directly related to the death of Emma Sandhu, 15, a sophomore at Ridgefield High School who lived in the neighborhood, police told the Ridgefield Press.

“The Danbury State’s Attorney’s office declined to pursue charges against the driver of the vehicle which struck and killed Ms. Sandhu,” the Ridgefield Police Department said in a press release Tuesday at the Ridgefield Press website.

Police would not say whether Sandhu was at the party, the Ridgefield Press said.

Sandhu, who was a dancer and honors student, was struck by a car on Ridgebury Road on the evening of March 14 while walking along the side of the road. She died later at Danbury Hospital.

A 21-year-old man and seven minors were arrested on alcohol-rated charges, police told the Ridgefield Press.
