Store employees told police that Teresa Piazza, 51, of Easton, attempted to leave with $477 worth of store item hidden in her purse, police said.

According to the police report, Piazza had been in the accessories and houseware sections of the store before purchasing a set of dinnerware. She then made no attempt to pay for any of the items that had been in her purse, police said.

Piazza was charged with sixth-degree larceny, released on a written promise to appear and given a court date of Jan. 6.
