Name Of Driver Killed In Redding Crash Released

REDDING, Conn. ? The driver killed in a three-car accident Friday, Aug. 17, on Route 7 in Redding has been identified as Micelina Abbate, 70, of Ridgefield. The other drivers, who were uninjured, are listed as Geraldo Araujo, 50, of Danbury, and Misty Enright, 33, of Stamford.

Redding police are still investigating the accident and haven't provided details about how it took place. No arrests were made, but Redding Police Chief Douglas Fuchs said there will be an arrest after the investigation is completed.

• The drivers in an Aug. 12 accident on Route 7 were identified. Nichole Reyes, 19, from Danbury, was injured and is in stable but critical condition. She was transported to Norwalk Hospital after the accident and air-lifted to another hospital. Flavio Pereira, 49, from Bethel, and Lea Dexter, 60, from Redding were also involved in the accident. The police investigation continues and no charges have been filed yet.

• On Aug. 16, Britta Carlson, 19, from Redding was allegedly driving erratically on Great Pasture Road and struck a rock embankment. She was charged with DUI, failure to drive in the proper lane and possession of alcohol by a minor. She had a reading of four times the legal limit of alcohol.

• Road and construction signs were stolen from the Simpaug bridge construction site on Monday, Aug. 20. Police are investigating the incident.
