Police: Norwalk Man Attacked In Darien Parking Lot

DARIEN, Conn. – A 38-year-old Norwalk man told police he was attacked in a Darien parking lot last week, according to police reports.

The attack occurred in the parking lot of Merrill Lynch on Post Road at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The victim told police that a man approached him on his way into the office and began asking for directions, according to the police report. The victim began walking away because he did not understand what the man was saying, according to the police report.

The suspect then moved in front of him and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, police said. After a brief struggle on the ground, the suspect got up and got into the passenger seat of a black pickup truck, which then drove away, according to the report.

The victim had swelling around his eye and a scrape on his hand from hitting the ground, police said. He was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment.

The suspect was described as a heavyset man with dark skin and short black hair, possibly of Middle Eastern or South Asian descent, according to the police report. He was approximately 6 feet tall and in his 30s, and he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and greenish cargo pants, police said.
