The first burglary took place at a house on Ohio Avenue. The residents reported leaving at 8 a.m. and arriving home at 3 p.m. to find several items had been stolen.

Among the items taken were a Dell computer, an XBox, a Playstation 4, some video games and some jewelry. The residents told police that entry to the house could have been gained through a kitchen door. The glass window on the door had previously been broken and covered up with cardboard, and somebody could have reached their hand through the opening to open the door, police said.

The second burglary occurred at a home on New Canaan Avenue. The residents reported leaving the house at 11 a.m. and coming home at 4:20 p.m. to find that somebody had stolen $6,000 worth of jewelry, three watches valued at $185 each, and a wallet containing $100 cash and some credit cards. According to police, the residents believed that the doors to the house had been locked, but said that a basement door may have been unlocked.
