Two Charged In Danbury For Driving While Intoxicated

DANBURY, Conn. - Danbury officers charged two men with drunken driving over the weekend in separate incidents, police said.

Late Saturday night, officers arrested 53-year-old Neangrith Chan of Danbury after an accident on Garamella Boulevard, police said.

Chan was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said. He was held on $5,000 bond, and no court date was given.

Danbury officers stopped Redding resident James Kirkwood, 25, after seeing him driving erratically on Federal Road on Sunday evening, police said. Officers conducted field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. 

Kirkwood was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to obey control signals and failure to drive in proper lane. He was held on $2,500 bond, and no court date was given.
