Officers responded to a liquor store on Ely Avenue at 8:14 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a man who had been stabbed in the shoulder, police said.

They found a 42-year-old Bridgeport man outside who was bleeding from the head. He told police that he had been jumped by three or four black males, described as being in their late teens or 20s and wearing hooded sweatshirts. He said he had also been punched in the head, causing the bleeding, police said. The victim told police that the group of men had run off in the direction of Lexington Avenue.

Officers then encountered another man who said he had been stabbed, police said. The 24-year-old Norwalk resident took off his jacket and showed officers a puncture wound to his back. He told police that he had also been attacked by a group of young black men.

Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The detective bureau is investigating the case.
