Two Teens Arrested Following Norwalk Street Brawl

NORWALK, Conn. – Two Norwalk teenagers were arrested early Wednesday following a fight on the street, Norwalk Police said. One of them spit on a police officer who had chased and apprehended his friend.

Officer Justin Bisciglie was on patrol just after midnight when he spotted 30 to 40 people fighting at the intersection of Wall and Isaac streets, Sgt. James Walsh said. One of them ran up River Street and Bisciglie tracked him down, catching him at West Avenue and Wall Street. The 17-year-old boy was put on the ground and handcuffed.

A 16-year-old boy yelled at Bisciglie that the other youth hadn't done anything wrong, Walsh said. He confronted Bisciglie and other officers with fists clenched and an aggressive stance. He was also put on the ground and cuffed.

The 17-year-old was charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace, Walsh said. The 16-year-old was charged with assault on a police officer and interfering with an officer.
