Weston Police Investigate String Of Vandalism Cases

WESTON, Conn. – Weston Police are asking for information from the public in a string of vandalism cases around town over the past few weeks.

Police received reports of more than 15 cases of minor vandalism between May 12 and June 21. The incidents included smashed or removed mailboxes, broken outdoor light fixtures and one case of a car damaged while parked in a Blueberry Hill Road driveway.

The incidents were reported on Valley Forge Road, Old Redding Road, Old Hyde Road, Coley Drive, Mayflower Lane, Fanton Hill Road, Silver Ridge Common, Cardinal Road, Old Farm Road and Kellogg Hill Road. A picnic table was also thrown into the swimming pond at Biscegle Park on June 15, police say.

“Historically, teenage males are the primary offenders in this type of property crime,” the Weston Police said on their Facebook page. “Vandalism is a crime of opportunity and is usually committed in an area or town where the perpetrator lives.”

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact the Weston Police at 202-222-2600.
