White Plains Firefighter Charged With DWI In Fatal Crash Near Galleria

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The off-duty White Plains firefighter involved in a fatal one-way head-on collision on Monday has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and DWI, according to ABC 7 News.

Eric Refvik, 34, was driving his Ford Tahoe the wrong way down South Lexington Avenue at 4:30 a.m. when he crashed head-on into a gray sedan, killing 47-year-old Reyda LaMadrid, according to officials. Police say Refvik’s blood alcohol content was .145, nearly twice the legal limit according to the report.
