The Democratic Town Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Selectmen, which approves the appointments.

Commissions with openings include the Board of Ethics, Planning and Zoning Commission, Conservation Commission, Commission on Aging, Parks and Recreation Commission, Solid Waste Commission, EMS Commission, Insurance Commission, Senior Center Commission and the Agriculture Commission.
