And there will be a newcomer on the scene.
State Rep. Mike Bocchino, R-150th District, is the new member of the all-Republican four-person delegation. He's happy to attend the event with residents and his fellow lawmakers.
"I'm looking forward to hosting my first coffee hour with the rest of the delegation," he said. "I'm excited and eager to hear and learn from my constituents and then hopefully put their ideas into action."
He defeated Democrat Jill Oberlander in a tight contest in November for the open seat that was vacated by Republican Stephen Walko, who moved out of the district.
Joining him at the Glory Days Diner from 8 to 9 a.m. will be returning members state Sen. L. Scott Frantz, 36th District; state Rep. Livvy Floren, 149th District; and state Rep. Fred Camillo, 151st District.
"Coffee hours, like community meetings, are wonderful ways to get to know your representatives in an informal setting," Camillo said. He added that it allows him to hear residents' concerns while he can also inform them about what is happening in Hartford.
Frantz said the early start gives constituents time to meet with their representatives before they go off and start their day.
"Having a second cup of coffee with them is an easy way for us to connect before folks have to head off to work or school for the day," Frantz said.
Floren said the informal nature of the event gives them the best opportunity to hear residents' concerns.
"These coffee hours may benefit the constituents, but they are of even greater benefit to us," she said.
