School Board Member Fills Vacancy On Weston Republican Town Committee

WESTON, Conn. – The Weston Town Republican Committee recently appointed Nina Daniel to fill a vacancy on its 25-member board.

“I am honored to welcome a new member of Nina’s caliber and dedication to the community,” RTC Chair Britta Lerner said in a press release.

“Her input on matters will be informed by the wide spectrum of civic activities in which she is involved "

Daniel has lived in Weston for more than 40 years, and is an elected member of the Board of Education. She was named Weston’s Citizen of the Year for 2014.

"I look forward to working with the Weston RTC to define and respond to the many challenges that the residents of Weston face, no matter their age or station in life, offering innovative solutions that reflect traditional Republican values of sound fiscal policy, self-reliance, and good governance,” Daniel said while accepting her appointment at the Sept. 9 meeting of the RTC.

She is a member of the Commission on Aging, the Friends of the Weston Senior Activities Center, the Weston Historical Society, the League of Women Voters Steering Committee, and the Kiwanis Club.

Daniel is also is a member of Norwalk Hospital’s Institutional Review Board and serves patients as a Stephen Minister.

“Her diplomatic style and ability to collaborate with others will be an asset on the RTC,” Lerner said.

“One dynamic person, like Nina, can really make all the difference on a board. I look forward to her taking an active role.”

The Weston Republican Town Committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month. Members of the community are always welcome to attend.
