Hwang said his focus during the campaign is on the affordability of taxes, the economy and social responsibility. He said he believes in common sense government.

“Common sense means that our state government must do what families are doing every day – making difficult decisions/sacrifices and living within their means,” said Hwang.

Hwang is a Taiwanese immigrant who says his dedication to education allowed him to live the American Dream.

Hwang is facing Rep. Kim Fawcett (D-Fairfied) in the Nov. 4 general election. They will face off in a Weston League of Women Voters debate from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Weston Public Library, 87 School St.
