Weston Holds Referendum Vote On Town Budget Thursday

WESTON, Conn. -- The referendum vote on the 2015-16 Weston budget will be Thursday, April 30, from noon to 8 p.m.

Voting will be held in the Meeting Room at Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road, First Selectwoman Gayle Weinstein reminds residents. 

Voters will cast ballots on a $65,759,943 total budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year, which begins July 1, according to the Weston Forum. This is a 2.29 percent increase over the current year’s budget.

The proposed budget includes:

  • Town operating: $12,408,752, which is a 2.54 percent increase over this year;
  • School operating: $48,603,782, which is a 2.62 percent increase;
  • Capital improvements: $1,354,558, which is a 2.66 percent increase; and 
  • Debt service: $6,390,963, a 1.5 percent decrease.
