The local rally – which is part of the national #WomenBetrayed rallies – will call for the defunding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million in government funds a year. Rally participants will call on Connecticut to immediately investigate Planned Parenthood and defund them of all taxpayer dollars.

"Join us on your lunch break and take a stand against Planned Parenthood. The recent revelations of their illegal sales of the body parts of aborted babies has opened the door for all to see the depravity of the Planned Parenthood business," the #WomenBetrayed group said in a Facebook post.

"The public outcry has been strong and swift. This is the best opportunity we have had to finally end the more than $500 million in annual taxpayer funding to the Abortion Goliath."

The group wants three things:

  • For an immediate investigation into the practices of Planned Parenthood by all state governments;
  • For all state governments and the federal government to immediately end taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood; and
  • For all 2016 presidential candidates to pledge to defund Planned Parenthood, if they are elected.

The Government Center is at 888 Washington Blvd. Immediately after the rally, participants will head over to the Stamford location of Planned Parenthood and rally at that location.

People expected to attend the rally include, according tor organizers:

  • Shannon Boland, 40 Days for Life and Gospel of Life Society, as Emcee;
  • Despina Drougas, graduate of Immaculate High School in Danbury will sing the National Anthem;
