Women's League Elects New Officers

The Westport Young Woman's League elected new executive officers for 2010–2011. Officers for the coming year are Madeline Monde, President; Kristin LaFleur, Vice President; Elizabeth Marks Juviler, Past President; Meg Himes, Treasurer; Donna Adelglass, Recording Secretary; Candace Banks, Ways & Means Chair; Lauren LoFrisco , Public Relations, Cynthia Bernard, Long Range Planning Chair, Dot Baliban, Craft Westport Liaison, and Marita Driscoll, Sponsor Development Chair.

The WYWL is currently accepting applications for new members. An open house for prospective members is scheduled for 7:30 on Thursday, June 10 at 44 Imperial Ave. in Westport. This is an opportunity to meet members of the executive board and to find out more about the Westport Young Woman's League. The Westport Young Woman's League is a non-profit philanthropic organization of women committed to promoting a sense of community through volunteerism, social activities and fundraising for local charities. Membership is open to women who are residents of Westport and between the ages of 21 and 50. The WYWL offers many opportunities for members to be involved. Whether members choose to participate in fundraising through the WYWL Minute Man Race or CraftWestport or volunteer in the community by cooking for the Community Kitchen (formerly the Gillespie Center) or performing Kids on the Block puppet shows for local elementary school students, the WYWL offers something for everyone.
