The Bouncing Bulldogs, from Chapel Hill, N.C., and Japanese Double Dutch Association made the stop before competing in the 22nd annual Double Dutch Holiday Classic at the Apollo Theater in Manhattan. The groups performed recently in front of assemblies for Greenvale and Waverly schools. The groups also hosted a jump rope clinic for the Eastchester community, with more than 60 jumpers participating.

The groups provided members of the Eastchester community with an interactive performance that included the Greenvale and Waverly students as judges. Judges in Double Dutch competition count the number of times a competitor’s left foot hits the floor and the students were able to experience how fast a jumper is able to jump inside two turning ropes.

Both the Bouncing Bulldogs and the Japanese Double Dutch Association teams won first place in multiple events at the Double Dutch Holiday Classic on Sunday, Dec. 8.
