Clarkstown Police Charge Connecticut Man With Larceny

NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Clarkstown police have charged a 35-year-old resident of Stamford, Conn., with larceny following an incident at Macy’s.

Police responded to Macy’s at the Palisades Center mall for a report of shoplifting on Saturday, April 9, at approximately 2 p.m., according to officials.

The suspect, identified as Francis Carillo, was reportedly observed by loss prevention employees taking clothing valued at $1,200, police report.

Carillo was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing; he was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, both felonies, according to police.

The defendant was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, and bail was set at $5,000, officials report.

He was transported to the Rockland County Jail, and was scheduled to return to court today, according to police.
