12 Weston High Students Earn National Merit Commendation

WESTON, Conn. -- A dozen students at Weston High School have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Program.

Although they will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, 34,000 Commended Students nationwide placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by talking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The 12 Commended Students are Samuel Bieler, Daniel Bogaev, Zachary Byer, Ana Flooks, Zoe Howard, Alexander Ishin, Alexander Lee, Caroline Maretz, Jackson Siff, Justin Summers, Alex Sydney, and Garrick Tsui.
