The Danbury-based school, operated by the state, serves students from Easton, Ridgefield, Redding, Weston and Wilton, among many others in western Connecticut.
A total of 150 seniors graduated from the programs offered at Abbott Tech: electrical; carpentry; graphics technology; automotive technology; plumbing and heating; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; hairdressing and cosmetology; computer-aided drafting and design; manufacturing technology; culinary arts; and collision, repair, and refinishing.
The ceremony opened up with the processional. Class President Marina Bacino served as the master of ceremonies. Maria LoStocco, a member of the graduating class, sang the National Anthem.
Principal Stacy Butkus addressed the seniors and their guests.
Speeches were also given by Larisa Chetcuti and Lindsey Japa, who was the valedictorian.
Honored guests for the nights included: State Reps. David Arconti and Robert Godfrey; State Sen. Michael McLachlan; Connecticut Technical High School System board member John Barrasso; Jeffrey Wihbey, CTHSS Assistant Superintendent; Raymond Mencio, CTHSS Consultant; and Donna Risolo, CTHSS Consultant.
Presenting of the awards was Stacy Butkus, Principal; Kevin Durkin and Ted Oczkowski, assistant principals; and Sally Markiewicz and Justin Williams, the senior class advisers.
