Housatonic Community College Ramps Up For Fall Semester

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- August is a very busy month for those planning to start classes Aug. 31 at Housatonic Community College.

On Thursday, students who have been accepted are invited to take advantage of special registration activities. Students will be guided through the registration process, and lunch will be provided. They will meet advisers and other students, consult and receive a financial aid overview, and participate in a campus tour.

From 4-6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, information sessions on the registration process for new students will be conducted by the admissions department and tours of the campus will be conducted.

With classes for the fall semester filling rapidly, those who want to be takes classes at Housatonic are encouraged to register between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Online registration is available 24/7.

Orientation for the new students will take place Wednesday, Aug. 26 and Thursday, Aug. 27. These sessions will introduce students to the many clubs, services, and activities available at the college.

Students also will have the opportunity to explore career options, and the educational path toward those goals in health care, criminal justice, manufacturing, the arts, social services, engineering and other in-demand occupations.
