Fairfield’s Jessica Ferrante and Weston’s Haley Bower will join the rowing team at Boston College. Isabel Fitter of Fairfield will head to the University of Southern California.

The girls are part of a 10-member senior class at CBC that will continue rowing in college. Darien’s Kendra Shutts, Katie DeHaas and Juliet Ruhe will be frequent competitors of Fitter as all three head to the University of California at Berkeley. Four other CBC seniors are still finalizing their college plans.

The seniors at CBC helped keep the program among the nation’s elite. CBC coach Liz Trond’s teams have graduated elite rowers every year, and this year’s group was vital in helping it remain among the best programs in the country.

“They came in the kept the program going when it could’ve slipped a little bit,’’ Trond said. “They’ve helped us remain a strong girls program.”

After a strong fall season, CBC has commenced winter workouts and is preparing for the spring season.
