REDDING, Conn. -- Redding's Brooklee Han, a senior at Joel Barlow High School, continued her quest toward the 2014 Sochi Olympics as she finished 16th at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships last month in Milan, Italy.
Han, 17, skates for Australia. She scored a total of 125.62 points at the event. Her short program score of 47.20 points put her in 15th place after the first round. Han scored 78.42 points for her long program, skated to "Ave Maria" by Caccini, which placed her 17th in that round. She skated clean in the competition, with no falls.
Han is slated to skate next at the World Figure Skating Championships from March 10 to 17 in London, Ontario. The event is the first qualifier for spots at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
