Sacred Heart Basketball Hosts 'Autism Awareness Day' In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Sacred Heart  University's basketball teams will host 'Autism Awareness Day' on Saturday, Jan. 10.

The women's team will tip off against St. Francis University at 1 p.m., and the men's team will play St. Francis at 3:0 p.m. The games will be at the Pitt Center on the Sacred Heart campus in Fairfield.

Norwalk's Evan Kelley plays on Sacred Heart's men's team. The women's team is coached by New Canaan native Jessica Mannetti.

Discounted tickets and many raffle items have been donated for the day. Here are some of the items:

  • Specially made for this event, a limited number of “Blue” Sacred Heart Basketball shirts will be made available for sale.  As with the raffle, 100 percent of these proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks.

Fans attending the game will be able to learn more about autism spectrum disorder as well as the mission of Autism Speaks at an information table located in the lobby of the Pitt Center.
