Stay Fit This Fall, Westport, With Cycling

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Summer is drawing to a close, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of time to stay fit outdoors in Fairfield County.

With the forecast calling for warm temperatures and sunny skies later this week, you don't have to stop your summer exercise routine just because the leaves are changing.

Three fitness trainers — Chris Thomas of Personal Training Professionals in Southport, Matthew Snow of Trek Bicycle in Fairfield and Megan Kelly of Target Training in Greenwich and Westport — give tips on running, cycling and competing in triathlons.

Today, Thomas gives some basic tips for improving your next bicycle ride. He also talks about Cyclo-Cross, a fairly new off-road cycling sport that takes place in the fall and winter. Check back Friday for another fitness tip.
