Weston Boys Swim Team Wins Class S Crown

WESTON, Conn. – Jordan Berger won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team to help the Weston High School boys swim team win the Class S state title Wednesday at Wesleyan University in Middletown.

Weston finished with 698 points and knocked off two-time defending champion Sacred Heart, which finished with 538. Weston, the runner-up to Sacred Heart each of the past two years, won its third state crown in six years. The Trojans also won in 2008 and 2010.

Berger won the 200-yard individual medley and the  100-yard breaststroke. He joined Adam Winkoff, Clayton Morikawa and Hugo Sykes on the winning 200-yard medley relay.

Sykes, a freshman, also had a big meet for Weston with a third-place finish in the 50 free and a second-place effort in the 100 free.

Weston took second in the 400 free relay with  Eli Carter, Winikoff, Gabriel Imber and Sykes. Martin Imber, Gabriel Imber, Carter and Berger were third in the 200 free relay.

Three divers picked up points for Weston, led by Misha Moffly (third), Dean Rapp (fourth) and Lucas Billig (eighth).
