Weston Rower Captures Bronze In Pairs at National Championships

The bronze medal winners are Weston's Bridget Murphy and Darien's Ellie Harned.

The club also won gold in both the open weight girls 8+ and lightweight girls 8+ events, a feat which has only been achieved by one other club. Moreover, the victory by the undefeated openweight 8+ girls earned the crew the youth rowing "triple crown" -- wins at the Head of the Charles, San Diego Crew Classic and Youth Nationals.

“It’s an incredible accomplishment for a club to win a national title, let alone two, as we did at nationals,” said Sharon Kriz, SRC junior director and boys head coach. “On the girls’ side, of the 30 rowers we sent to Sarasota, 20 returned home with medals, and 18 of them will be returning for the 2015-16 season.  We’re eager to continue our strong performances next year.”
