Weston Sports Commission Seeking Nominations For Sportsperson Of The Year

WESTON, Conn. -- The Weston Sports Commission is seeking nominations for the 2015 Weston Sportsperson of the Year, who will be recognized this October at the Fairfield County Sports Commission’s (FCSC) 11th annual Sports Night awards dinner.

Michael Carter, a 29-year resident of Weston, was honored last year for his role as head of the Weston Stadium Lights Committee.

As part of the evening, the FCSC will recognize 16 Sportspersons of the Year from towns throughout the county, including Weston.

The FCSC also will recognize new inductees into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame, which has a professional wing, an amateur wing and a community service wing.

The Weston Sportsperson of the Year Award recognizes the person who has made the greatest positive impact and contribution to the Weston sports community from July 2014 through June 2015. Nominees can be athletes of any age, coaches, administrators, parents, volunteers or supporters of any type.

Michael Carter was the Weston Sportsperson of the year last year.

Nominations can be made by emailing a letter of support to westonsportscommission@gmail.com.

The letter should state with specificity why the person is deserving of the award and offer evidence and support of the person’s accomplishments over the prior year.

Please include your relationship to the person whom you are nominating.
