Weston's Emily Savage Sets State Pole Vault Record, Wins Penn Relays

WESTON, Conn. – Weston High School senior Emily Savage won the championship in the pole vault Thursday at the Penn Relays and set a state record with a jump of 13 feet, 1½ inches.

The meet at the University of Pennsylvania is one of the most prestigious meets in the nation. Savage, who recently committed to the University of Oklahoma, also broke the meet record set in 2008 by three-quarters of an inch. Results are on the Penn Relays website.
