Ask yourself, is it really worth it? Greenwich is a beautiful place, but it is by far not the only beautiful place in the United States. There are many other bedroom communities on the "left coast" that are equally beautiful physically and far more beautiful meteorologically that do not require the daily Metro North grind or have snow, ice, and blizzards. Why are we giving so much thought to this issue. Just let him fade away into oblivion. There are countless droves of mannequins waiting in the wings that are more than eager to read the news as the next NBC Nightly News anchor.
Williams, nor are any of the other "readers" indispensable. They are expendable and essentially unnecessary. A voice-over commentary could be just as effective and far less costly. View Comment
Does he ever get tired of posing!
He's a classic example of where who you know gets you where you want to go. The formula for success in broadcast media is frequently image + connection = stardom. A good William Morris agent can turn a under qualified frog into a wealthy prince.
We do not need any more type casting. Nor do we need diversity initiatives to propel Lester Holt into Williams' spot. Let's also get rid of Matt Lauer. He's another bland zero that had to know someone to land his high paying gig.
Isn't it interesting that all of these highly paid mannequins hail from Fairfield
County, CT. I suppose they are in good company with all their hedge fund
criminal neighbors conveniently nearby.
I prefer to watch European and/or BBC news where substance and objectivity take the spotlight. View Comment
He's a wanna be journalist that ascended the hierarchy no doubt through connections. NBC needs to clean house. Today show's Lauer (another creep from CT; Greenwich to be exact) is a nobody that commands an outrageous salary, helicopter door-to-door shuttle, and who knows what else his agent managed to nail, has no talent and hardly qualifies as a journalist. We don't need Williams. We don't want Williams. He is well suited to join his GE neighbor in NC and kiss news reading go bye. View Comment
You are right on. These guys are pathetic and guess what they all share another common thread -- Connecticut. This place is loaded with dishonest con-artists in all spheres of industry and government. Recall Madoff, Cohen, and our dearest Martha Stewart of Westport and, of course, former Attorney General Blumenthal. View Comment
I love the terminology used e.g., "run-of-the-mill 99 percenter."
I also "love" the writer's use of the term "cultural elite" suggesting that wealth equals culture.
I cannot imagine CA not making the list.
Another example of glorifying the hedge fund criminals that reside in Greenwich. View Comment
Malloy is doing his best to take care of business. We could make his job a helluva a lot easier by simply vacating CT. What's keeping people here? Are they numb-skulled or just inexorably conditioned to enjoy masochism? Be courageous and leave this frozen nightmare behind as a distant memory. Such inertia confirms that the people are just as peculiar as the weather, or vice versa. Aside from acquired snobbishness, the region is rife with weird people bearing a striking resemblance to cast members of monster movies. Grant Wood captured their eery glare. Even the pretty ones have spooky dispositions. View Comment
Why tolerate such horrendous weather? As yourself why you continue to live in Greenwich, or the whole of New England for that matter. It's not as if we have taken a pledge of allegiance to remain victims of frigid temperatures, snow storms, and blizzards. Break the mental shackles that keep you here and go West young men (and young women) and live a much happier life. View Comment
Isn't living in the Northeast a joy! Who in their right mind would ever desire to live in sunny California, Nevada, or Arizona? Residents of these temperate climate states just don't get it! Our New England Chambers of Commerce need to get busy to keep hordes of people at bay and far away from our frigid paradise ... and being wealthy doesn't make the picture any rosier. View Comment
Good they convicted him. He'll likely released after serving "token soft time" in a Southern California country club prison like Milken and be on probation in 5 years or less. Martha Stewart is another Zionist con-artist that supposedly paid back society for insider trading. Why do these white collar criminals get off the hook so easily? It is a gross miscarriage of justice. View Comment
Greenwich is not among the Top 10 and near the bottom of the Top 20 list. Greenwich schools have nothing to boast about. New Canaan, Westport and Darien are clearly superior when it comes to providing your children with excellent education. Greenwich High School is certainly less that the best among Fairfield County high schools. The quality of education has at least two dependent variables: parents and teachers. The students' academic performance is the result of the dedication of both. View Comment
