Jaguar E-Type is One Sought After Cat

Would you happen to have a Jaguar E-Type lying around your garage somewhere? If so, you're wanted (and so is your car). The Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance is looking for Jaguar E-Types from within the contiguous United States for its eighth annual event Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, in Westport, Conn. Hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, the Jaguar E-Type (known as the XK-E in the United States) combined sleek lines, high performance and competitive pricing during its production from 1961-1975.

Here are the specs. The Concours seeks two privately owned E-Types: the car with the lowest chassis serial number, as well as the car that is the longest privately held single-owner E-Type. Owners are being asked to submit information, stories and photographs of their E-Types through the Concours' website

"We have always had several remarkable E-Type Jaguars in our show field each year," said Bill Scheffler, Concours d'Elegance CEO and Co-Founder. "To celebrate the 50th year since its introduction, we decided to make the car one of our featured judging classes for 2011."

The Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance will showcase more than 200 of the world's most exceptional automobiles and motorcycles throughout the past 100 years.

Fairfield County Concours events have raised more than $100,000 to support The Drive to Treat Autism Fund, which provides support for diagnostic and treatment services for adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
