"I could not be more proud of this team," Golden Knights Head Coach Brian Dunn told Daily Voice.

Senior point guard Emily Crevani had team-high 16 points and Kailyn Sytsma added 10 points for Old Tappan, which had lost seniors Ariana Chipolone and Alexie Piccinich to ACL injuries.

"To continue to play at such a high level after losing two great players is a credit to our whole team and their determination," Dunn said. "It's beyond just stepping up, as people call it. It's rising up to the occasion."

The Golden Knights face North 2, Group 3 champion Vorhees at Ramapo High School on Wednesday.

"I firmly believe this is a team of destiny," Old Tappan Athletic Director Tom Kaechele said. "This team bonded and was not going to be denied."

The victory improved their record to 24-4.

The Golden Knights defeated Teaneck, 59-42, in the semifinals three days earlier.
