Cool Weather Expected to Warm Up by Wednesday

Tuesday’s forecast is somewhat cooler, the crisp weather is not expected to last.

“Today is much cooler,” National Weather Service meteorologist Ross Dickman said, “but we are expecting a 20-degree warm-up.”

According to Dickman, a large, low pressure system is the reason for Tuesday’s cool temperatures. The lingering system “funnels down cool air” from Canada and the ocean. Once the system moves off to the east, Dickman said area residents can expect sunny June weather.

The National Weather Service is predicting showers and possibly a thunderstorm for Tuesday before 9 p.m. There’s a 70 percent chance that the area will see rainfall. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 65, with winds coming from the east. Lows are expected to be near 51 degrees.

Wednesday’s weather is expected to be sunny and hot, with a high around 84. Winds may reach speeds of 10 to 15 miles per hour. Wednesday night will be a cool 55 degrees.

The sunshine will continue to Thursday, with temperatures staying above 80 degrees. Thursday night will see a low of 61 and a 50 percent chance of rain.

The chance of rain for Friday is predicted to be 50 percent, with temperatures reaching 78 degrees. Friday night’s low temperature is expected to be 63 degrees.

Saturday will see a 30 percent chance of showers, but the temperatures are expected to reach 81 degrees. The low is predicted to be around 62.

Sunday will be sunny, with a high of 84.
