Report: Aspetuck Land Trust Battles Invasive Reeds In Westport Salt Marsh

WESTON, Conn. -- The Aspectuck Land Trust was recently featured on WSHU Public Radio with a story about its efforts to restore a salt marsh in Westport.

Salt marshes throughout Connecticut are a battleground with native species facing foreign invaders, WSHU said. One invader is winning the battle. State environmental officials are fighting off an invasive reed, called Phragmites, that hurts the health and diversity of marshes.
