EASTON/FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- United Illuminating was reporting power outages in Easton and Fairfield after heavy rains swept through the area Monday evening.
As of 9:45 p.m. Monday, these power outages were reported by UI:
- In Easton, 290 customers were without power, or nearly 10 percent of the town
- In Fairfield, 481 customers were without power,or about 2 percent of the town
In Fairfield, police reported via Twitter that Round Hill Road was closed between Papermill Road and Barlow Road due to downed wires.
It was not clear when power would be restored.
