Westport Firefighters Help With Extraction In I-95 Car Rollovers

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield and Westport firefighters spent the morning Saturday responding to a report of two vehicles on their sides with people injured and trapped on I-95 between Exit 18 and 19 near the Sasco River Creek Overpass.

The injured people have been transported to Bridgeport Hospital and Norwalk Hospital. 

“This was a serious accident and a very complicated extrication," said Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola, the incident commander. "The high level of professionalism and cooperation demonstrated by the Fairfield and Westport Fire Departments during this extrication helped to saved lives and reduced the impact of this accident on the victims."
