Paulo Lumfuakiadi, of Wheeler Avenue, borrowed his girlfriend’s car on Dec. 4 and got a traffic ticket, police said. Police did not disclose the nature of the ticket.
But he told police he was another man – the nephew of the girlfriend – and signed that man’s name on the ticket, police said. When the victim, a Norwalk resident, received a court summons for the ticket, he went to Norwalk police headquarters to complain that he never received a traffic ticket, police said. The department launched an investigation, police said.
Officers interviewed Lumfuakiadi, who admitted he said he was the nephew and signed his name, police said.
Lumfuakiadi was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and criminal impersonation. He was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
