EASTON, Conn. - Two more burglaries were reported in Easton, part of a string of home burglaries that have occurred since Christmas, police said.

A resident of Chester Road reported jewelry worth $5,000 stolen. The report was filed on Jan. 3 after the resident noticed an open door and window on Jan. 2.

On Jan. 6, another burglary was reported on Old Orchard Road. No list of missing items was reported. Police are investigating.

The police warned residents to keep doors locked, burglar alarms on and not to leave expensive jewelry in open places. Police said residents should notify police any time they see suspicious people or cars near their homes.

Blabbermouth68:

Get a gun, learn how to use it, and greet the burglar when he breaks in your house!

john.real.965:

And put this sticker on your front door:

THIS HOUSE IS PROTECTED BY THE GOOD LORD AND A PISTOL. YOU SHOW UP HERE UNINVITED WITH BAD INTENTIONS YOU JUST MIGHT MEET 'EM BOTH.

I'm just kidding. The right thing to do is not to tell others that you're armed.

Protect yourself and your family. Police are useful in the aftermath of burglary, rape, murder, etc. Don't think you're safe because you live in Easton, Weston, Redding. Don't say "It will never happen to me".

There's no safety in denial.
